What Does Cashmere Smell Like? A Cozy Candle Without the Pumpkin Spice

What Does Cashmere Smell Like?

Fragrance names can be wonderfully unhelpful.

“Cashmere” sounds soft and pretty, but unless someone has figured out how to make sweaters smell, that doesn't tell you much about the candle. 😂

So let's talk about what Made for ME Cashmere actually smells like.

The fragrance starts with mandarin and lime, followed by a delicate floral note called muguet. Underneath that are sandalwood, creamy vanilla, patchouli and light musk.

That sounds very fragrance-counter fancy, so here's my translation.

Cashmere smells clean, soft, warm and slightly creamy.

Is Cashmere a citrus scent?

Not really.

The mandarin and lime give the fragrance a little brightness at the beginning, but they don't turn Cashmere into a lemony or orange candle.

Instead, they keep the heavier notes underneath from becoming too rich.

Is Cashmere sweet?

A little, but not in a bakery way.

There is creamy vanilla in the base, but this isn't the candle for someone looking for birthday cake, buttercream or sugar cookies.

The vanilla smooths everything out rather than becoming the main event.

Is Cashmere floral?

Again, a little.

Muguet gives the fragrance a soft, fresh floral quality, but Cashmere doesn't smell like walking into a flower shop.

If you normally avoid heavy florals, I wouldn't automatically rule this one out.

What makes it feel cozy?

This is where the sandalwood, vanilla, patchouli and musk come in.

They give Cashmere warmth and softness without making it dark or heavy.

It's why I think of this as an in-between-season candle.

When I'm ready for things to feel cozier but not quite ready for pumpkin, cinnamon, apple and everything else that announces FALL in capital letters, Cashmere makes sense.

Especially here in West Texas, where my calendar and the temperature frequently disagree about what season we're having. 😂

Who will probably love Cashmere?

If you gravitate toward:

  • Clean scents
  • Soft musk
  • Sandalwood
  • Warm but understated fragrances
  • Scents that work well in bedrooms and quiet spaces

I'd put Cashmere on your list.

Who might want something else?

If you want a bold gourmand fragrance, heavy florals, strong fruit or a traditional spicy fall candle, I would point you somewhere else.

And that's okay.

You do not need to love every candle I make.

I'd much rather help you find the one you're actually going to light.

A little cozy without going full fall

Cashmere is one of those candles that doesn't need a season.

It's soft enough for a bedroom, warm enough for a cozy evening and clean enough that it doesn't overwhelm the room.

Basically, it's for those of us who are ready to turn the cozy dial up a notch without putting a decorative pumpkin on every available surface.

Yet. 😂
